Commercial Partnerships Manager

Job description

As a Commercial Partnerships Manager at Bolster, you would be in an agile and hybrid role that involves a 50/50 split between new business and client services. New business would be about identifying relevant opportunities by leaning on your existing network, and prospecting new opportunities - by going cold and developing new relationships. The focus will be on finding brands, businesses or agencies who are looking for ways to connect with Gen Z and Millennial audiences and their cultural passion points. Bolster provides these solutions through strategy, digital, creative and experiential through our expertise in entertainment & culture marketing.

In a Client Service capacity, you will also oversee a small team of Business Development managers in Australia and New Zealand and support the sales to delivery process of your client campaigns. This gives you a deep understanding of the work and connection right through to seeing projects of all sizes and scale come to life.

Bolster is a leading entertainment and culture marketing agency that produces world class campaigns for clients like, Splendour in the Grass, Laneway Festival, Falls Festival, Caroline Records, Chugg Entertainment, Future Classic, and global brands like JBL, KFC, YouTube Music, Red Bull Music, Tiger Beer and Puma. We also just picked up the creative and social account for Quibi, a new content platform of original, short-form content.

To get a sense of the Bolster culture and approach, our handbook is a great place to start.

You would be great for this role if you have:

  • At least 5 years experience in sales & partnerships/business development roles in creative, digital marketing, social media or content related agencies or publishers
  • Have had experience in client account management and been part of a team needed to find solutions to client challenges/ problems
  • An understanding and love of music and other cultural pillars that our clients sit within
  • Great client relationship building skills - good at selling without being too salesy
  • Previous experience pitching and winning large pieces of business, including tender responses
  • Love being autonomous and self-motivated in your roles, keep yourself and your teams organised
  • A love of managing small teams and mentoring to get the best out of each individual

Bolster will be great for you because:

  • You’ll have the ability to bring proactive & creative ideas to life
  • We have 6 + years of proven success to lean on, yet so much more growing to do which you can play a part in.
  • You’ll get to work with clients and projects that talk to consumers (and likely your) passion points.
  • We value our people, their growth and diversity in ideas

This could suit agency BDMs, Account Directors and above, as long as you can demonstrate your new business skills on top of your client management ability.

Our office is based in Melbourne but we are open to this position being based in Sydney as well, with regular travel.
